Greenland Intercity Space Station: A New Office Model

Yungu Liu and Shuolei Zheng's Innovative Approach to Office Design

The Greenland Intercity Space Station was born out of an understanding of the needs of the office sector and a continuous exploration of the future of the industry. The designers aimed to create a new office model that caters to the development of the times. What sets this design apart is its unique spatial layout. The traditional standardized layout is abandoned in favor of a smart, diverse office space. Independent office spaces are stacked with each other in the form of boxes, creating a dynamic and vibrant environment. The use of big and straight light color stones adds depth to the space, while the clear and bright light colors contribute to a neat and stylish aesthetic.

The design process was not without its challenges. The designers had to reshape the space using a multi-dimensional box-embedded design approach and combining contemporary art thinking. The solution was to plan an open layout, using stairs to connect the various public spaces. This, along with the different dimensions of the "box" office space, resulted in a multi-dimensional activity center that combines collaboration, interaction, and social interaction.

The Greenland Intercity Space Station is a testament to the designers' ability to innovate and push boundaries. The project, which started in June 2018 in Nanjing and finished in December 2019, is a shining example of how design can transform the office sector and create spaces that are not only functional but also inspiring and engaging.
